From the manufacturer

**The reason to specify this chair is the control range.** For a client who cannot use a standard joystick, the TDX SP2 supports ten alternative input methods on the LiNX platform — which means the chair can be matched to almost any remaining voluntary movement: - **MEC joystick** — for muscle weakness or reduced fine motor control - **Compact single-switch joystick** — for high tone or uncontrolled movement - **Extremity control joystick** — chin control, with a saliva-resistant outer shell - **Atom head array** — three proximity sensors in the headrest, Bluetooth built in - **Proton head array** — as above with an adjustable headrest - **Sip 'n' puff with lip switch** — combines breath control with head movement - **Four-switch proximity array** — for a defined range of motion with no available force - **Paediatric compact joystick** for midline mounting, a **compact remote with LED display** for limited range and strength, and an **attendant control unit** Proximity sensors respond without force, which is the distinction that matters where a client can move a body part but cannot press anything. **Turning diameter 1120 mm.** Very tight for a chair of this capability — that is what centre wheel drive buys, and it is the difference between a chair that works in a domestic hallway and one that doesn't. **Stability Lock keeps all six wheels on the ground over uneven terrain**, with patented **SureStep** suspension. Centre wheel drive chairs can rock fore-aft on transitions; both features exist to stop that. **Seating adjusts across an unusually wide range:** seat width **405–610 mm**, seat depth **355–505 mm**, seat height 440/460/490 mm, backrest height 230–405 mm, armrest height 270–474 mm, backrest angle **60–170°**. **Tilt 0–50°** (0–45° on versions with a lifter). Anterior tilt is available as a −5° or −10° mounting option — forward tilt assists sit-to-stand and functional reach at a table, and is often overlooked. **Maximum user weight 136 kg.** Driving unit width 650 mm (610 mm on the narrow base). Total length including footrests 1120 mm. **Speed is capped at 10 km/h in Australia** (12 km/h in New Zealand) — the chair is built for 6, 8 and 10 km/h configurations. Twin 340 W motors. **Driving range up to 31 km**, measured to **ISO 7176-4:2008** at 6 km/h with 73.5 Ah batteries. Real range varies with battery size, speed setting, terrain and user weight — quote it as a maximum, not an expectation. A 50 Ah battery option is also available. **Maximum climbable obstacle 75 mm.** Better than most travel scooters, but still below a standard Australian kerb of 100–150 mm. Maximum safe slope 9°/16° depending on configuration. **Total weight 156–179 kg** depending on modules fitted — relevant for vehicle hoists, ramps and floor loading.

We aim to make our range as accessible as possible. Some products may not be available in all areas — please contact BMS Plus to confirm availability and discuss suitable options.
